Lanolin is a deeply moisturising substance that occurs naturally in sheep's fleece. The lanolin in Purelan™ nipple ointment is ethically sourced from wool from farms that do not practise mulesing (cutting a piece of skin from sheep). It is highly pure and has been tested in accordance with the most stringent industry standards (European and American pharmacopoeia).

Once absorbed into the skin, Purelan™ lanolin ointment mimics the skin's natural ability to retain moisture and can hold twice its own weight in water, naturally moisturising the skin.

In addition to relieving dryness and soreness of the nipples during breastfeeding, Purelan™ ointment can be used to moisturise various dry areas of the skin, such as chapped lips, dry hands and cuticles around the nails, elbows and cracked heels.
